Turns out that everybody is suffering in this depression, and nobody was prepared for it.
While ordinary folks like me understand the concept of good times and bad, partners at BigLaw Firms are somewhat insulated from some economic bumps.
On the other hand, this isn’t an economic bump; it’s The Perfect Wave, or a Depression, depending on the day.
As a result, even those who are normally protected from competition are now being tossed out of their corner window high-rise offices, and there is no particular end in sight.
I have tweeted about why I love the television show “Outsourced”, because it is funny, and touching, and well-made, and sweet, sort of like “The Bad News Bears” done Indian.
But outsourcing has been the reason that so many jobs in the United States have been lost for no good reason.
And outsourcing is going to cause awful sidewalk clutter after almost twenty thousand BigLaw Lawyers get pushed off the top of the practice.
Myself, while I previously opposed them strongly, I kinda like the idea of very big tariff walls and reverse-incentives for outsourcing, because I like folks in the good old U.S. of A. to have decent jobs, including manufacturing jobs.
On the other hand, I know very smart, well meaning people who think that’s a terrible idea, because then U.S. Citizens will need to pay higher prices for plastic poop.
On the other other hand, I said, they’ll have something with which to pay. I call it a paycheck.
You know?
